Chat rules: Every place has to have rules; please follow them. Failing to do so will likely result in a kick or a ban. All rules apply to Private Chat and Private message.
1. No Disruptive Actions: This includes but isn't limited to, blank messages, content-free messages, entering identical or near-identical messages, multiple adies, multiple messages that only include emotions/adies, too many emotions, intentionally hard to read messages, (For example, ALL CAPS (Caps should be used for attention getting fraises, and very sparsely at that. Overuse of CAPs might be seen as disruptive. ), AlTeRnAtInG CaPs,Nospaces,exse s s spaces), messages that are unnecessarily separated into more then one message.
Constantly overwriting images on doodle, or clicking the trash can repeatedly and unnecessarily might also be seen as disruptive.
Signing in and out an extremely large amount of times may also be seen as disruptive.
Some additional notes, for a message not to be "disruptive" the words of the sentence must have a meaning when put together. Or a singular word such as "lol" or "yes" must be in reference to a previous statement made on the main chat within a reasonable timeframe/message frame.
2. No Advertising: While posting a link to help out another person is acceptable spamming your site URL might result in a kick or ban. Things you shouldn't post, links to other xat chat, any chat, a forums, freewebs, co.nr, anything where the site content can be added by users of that particular site rather then the sites administrators.
Things you can post, Youtube or other video links , direct links to images (of an appropriate nature of course), links to www.video-game-info.com (My site), www.freewebs.com/video-game-info/ (A site made by the staff of video-game-info). A well known site (Smogon, Serebii, GameFAQs, Google (Not a catche or a search link, just the homepage) Yahoo, MSN, etc. Please get permission from an Owner to post anything other then the things mentioned in the above paragraph.
Also do not post the same Youtube link more then once per hour, or twice per day unless asked for by a moderator or owner.
You may have a link to a site in your homepage. However you may not send a message that attempts to draw attention to that homepage. You also may not send a message that attempts to draw attention to the homepage of other users of the chat. Also the link in your homepage must not be Inappropriate or Offensive.
3 . No "harsh" flaming: You may not insult or flame someone in a way that is deemed very harsh/rude or just trying to hurt someone's feelings. "mean" is determined by moderator discretion. Though here are some things to keep in mind
Validity: If you call a random person you don't even know "gay" or "stupid" without any real evidence what so ever it is more or less, just flaming to be flaming.
Some examples of "valid" insults would be If someone doesn't know a very basic aspect of a game, or says that something is true when it clearly isn't, and you call set person "Inexperienced" or "Incorrect". Also, it will always be considered valid if "insult" in question is the users screen name.
The strength of the word used: Calling a person "Immature", a "n00b", a "bad person" person might not be considered very offensive. On the other hand, calling someone a curse word, or a sexual or racial slur would almost definitely be considered offensive.
If the person has broken rules themselves: While having someone break the rules is not a free pass to insult them all you like. It does mean that if there is a spammer, or a person who has violated a large amount of rules themselves, you may not be punished for calling them "dumb" or "annoying". And punished less for more offensive insults.
Also if someone insults you do not insult back, report it to a moderator or take a screenshot of it and send it later.
4. No uncensored Swearing: Some swear words include the “F” word, “C” word, “N” word, or any other racial or sexual slurs. You may sparsely use the “D” word (Not accompanied with the word “God”) or the “A” word (Not accompanied by the word hole), the "S" word, or the "H" word. Cursing in foreign languages is also not allowed. Also keep in mind that you may not use the "B" word regardless of whether or not you are referring to a female dog.
Here are some other things regarding swear words. You may post the word if it is fully censored, for instance if "Walk" was a banned word then saying W-a-l-k, W a l k, W*lk, W@||<, Waaaahhlkk, and W***, would not be allowed. What would be allowed, ****, The "W" word, ****ed, ****ing, w'ed.
5. No Inappropriate messages/links/profiles: You may not post or encourage others to post messages or links that are considered extremely inappropriate in nature. Some innapropriate things include but is not limited to, discussion of sexual activities ,discussion of pornography. If it's something that might be found in an "XXX" movie or book, don't post it here.
Also a profile may be deemed offensive if it contains a rule violation. Such as an avatar that contains nudity/near nudity/graphic violence/a middle finger/swearing etc.
Links that contain some inappropriate content (But no nudity) may be posted only if you give a warning BEFORE posting the link.
6. No Offensive messages/links/profiles: You may not post or encourage others to post messages or links that are considered Offensive (Kind of like the "Inappropriate" rule). Some Offensives things include discriminating against a person based on race, religion, sexual orientation, culture, ethnicity, handicap, nationality, or gender.
7. No Impersonating Users of this chat/forums: Impersonating means having a username that is identical or near identical to that person , or falsely claiming to be that person. This rule especially applies to moderators and Owners.
8. No harassing/stalking: Continually harassing, or trying to intimidate a certain user or create a hostile environment for that user is not allowed. You also may not post a private phone number or address of anyone. You may not post anyone's private information that they don't want revealed. This includes, but is not limited to: real name, something happening in their personal life.
9. No illegal activity: You may not post messages that violate the law or encourage others to violate the law. This includes but isn't limited to, asking for or linking to copyrighted ROMs, Software, music, text, video.
10. English only in the Main chat: This is an international chat, but it isn't a bilingual chat. The only exception is if you are saying a different language but it would still make sense in english, such as someone who says "This is what the game reads in the original Japanese text “????????????????????”” Or “rulebreaker41 said “???? ap????f?te p?a?µat??? s?????.” On the main chat”
11. No lying about rule violations: Do not give false information to a Moderator or Owner about a rule violation.
An example would be saying "This person harassed me in Private chat" when set person didn't. Or "I wasn't spamming" when you clearly were.
12. No asking/demanding to be a Moderator/Owner: Do not ask to/demand to/imply or say that you should be a Moderator or Owner in the chat unless you were a Moderator or Owner on this chat and you weren't made a Member or Guest by an Owner without asking to be made a Member or Guest before being made a Member or Guest. Instead use the Moderator application at http://video-game-info.com/modapply.htm. Asking to be a Moderator or Owner instead of using the application only decreases your odds of becoming a Moderator or Owner. NOTE: If you were a Moderator or Owner on this chat and you weren't made a Member or Guest by an Owner without asking to be made a Member or Guest before being made a Member or Guest, then you may ask to be a Moderator or Owner, provided that you provide proof or evidence that you were set person. Falsely claiming to be a Moderator or Owner is grounds for being banned.
